Did you know that turmeric has been shown to improve symptoms of osteoarthritis, joint pain, and also high cholesterol? Turmeric is also known as curcumin, which is the main component that is responsible for providing benefit.  Some studies have shown that taking turmeric orally can help reduce pain and improve functionality for patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.1,2 When used for high cholesterol, it can be beneficial in helping to lower triglycerides and helping to raise high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL), also known as the “good cholesterol.”3 Effective doses of turmeric is 500 mg twice daily. Turmeric can interact with some blood thinning medications, so be sure to speak with your healthcare provider before starting this product.
